President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology Next Meeting. (December 31, 2009)

The first meeting of the US President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) for 2010 is scheduled for January 7. Below is a copy of the agenda as issued on December 15, 2009.

The contributions from the Department of Energy and the Office of the Under Secretary, Science and Technology, United States Department of Homeland Security may be of particular interest following the Copenhagen Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change on the one hand and the botched plot for the mid-air destruction of the December 25 Northwest Airlines Amsterdam to Detroit flight with 289 passengers aboard are particularly timely, while that of Health Policy at a time when the House of Representatives and Senate health bills will have to be amalgamated should be lively.

In addition it will be of interest as to what progress will be reported on the analyses that were to be undertaken following the October 22-23, 2009 PCAST meeting^{1, 2}.
