The Hobbit and the Stork. (August 22, 2008)

Homo floresiensis the so-called hobbit (fossils of which were found on the Indonesian island of Flores) is a species separate from Homo Sapiens or just a malformed representative.

And while the controversy continues with the merit of fuelling further research, Science now reports on a paper given at a meeting of the Society of Avian Palaeontology and Evolution in Sydney this week which presented evidence that H. floresiensis had as a companion on Flores an outsized stork which towered over it.
