US National Science Board's 2008 Science and Engineering Indicators. (February 26, 2008)

Last Month the United States' National Science Board Released its 2008 compendium of science and engineering indicators (SEI).

The Two Volume set (1164 pages) is available online in PDF format. It describes itself as being "first and foremost a volume of record comprising the major high-quality quantitative data on the U.S. and international science and engineering enterprise. SEI is factual and policy-neutral. It does not offer policy options and it does not make policy recommendations".

While most of the data deals with US matters, there is enough of international interest to make it a highly worthwhile resource.

Below are just a few of the tables of interest.
