The Change in Academic Work Picture Book |
Changes in Academic Work,
is
a report commissioned by the Department of Education, Science and Training from
three eminent retired academics, Don Anderson, Richard Johnson and Lawrence Saha.
The 178 page report was presented to DEST in June 2002. It was published
unannounced on the DEST website about January 10, 2003.
2000 academic respondents to a questionnaire were asked
forty questions under the theme: ‘What is the extent of change over the last two
decades or since you became an academic?’ and ‘Whether it is for the better or
worse?’ Each of the eight categories is shown below (page numbers refer to those
in the report). The graphs indicate the percentage of respondents in
agreement within the designations listed below the bar in the graph
Left-hand graphs: increased greatly,
increased a little, no change, decreased a little, decreased greatly.
Right-hand graphs: change is better,
neither, change is worse.
