Federation of Australian Scientific and Technological Societies Has Some Words of Caution Regarding the Implementation of the Federal Government's $6 Billion Higher Education Endowment Fund. (August 28, 2007)

Yesterday the Federation of Australian Scientific and Technological Societies (FASTS) posted its submission with regard to the $6 billion federal government's Higher Education Endowment Fund to the Senate's Standing Committee on Employment, Workplace Relations and Education.

While FASTS welcomes the funding, it has a number of reservations as to how the money will be allocated and just who will be controlling the allocations.

As the bill was presented to Federal Parliament it has the paw prints of governmental micromanagement all over it and it remains unclear how the future of current allocation instruments will be affected.

Below we reprint FASTS submission in its entirety.
