Group of Eight Goes Public with Management Statistics. (August 14, 2007)

    The Group of Eight recently announced that it has made publicly available and online what it terms its "Go8 Executive Dashboard".

According to the announcement the dashboard "has been designed to provide Go8 executives and managers with easy access to key data sets routinely used within all institutions for a variety of purposes.

"The dashboard is an initiative of the University of Queensland Planning Office, in co-operation with the Directors of Planning and Statistics of all Go8 universities.

"Through the dashboard, users can obtain quick access to Go8 statistics about student load, finance, staff, the Course Experience Questionnaire and Learning and Teaching Performance Fund outcomes and research. Other data sets such as the National Survey of Research Commercialisation returns may be added in the future."

The dashboard's URL is http://www.mis.admin.uq.edu.au//Content/Dashboards/GroupOfEight.aspx. (Note: it requires the installation of  Macromedia's Flash player). It brings up the opening graphic (below). Moving the mouse pointer to various bars opens data windows and clicking on the various buttons changes the graphic to another data set.
