Leiden University's Centre of Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) Releases Its Rankings for Research  Quantity and Quality. (April 19, 2013)

The Centre for Scientific and Technology Studies (CWTS) of Leiden University has published its rankings of university research in both quantity and quality.

 

For indicators: "The CWTS Leiden Ranking 2013 is based on publications in Thomson Reuters' Web of Science database in the period 2008–2011. Book publications, publications in conference proceedings, and publications in journals not indexed in the Web of Science database are not included. Only publications of the Web of Science document types article and review are considered in the Leiden Ranking."

 

These indicators are listed in turn as: Impact indicators, Collaboration indicators, Special types of journals (which can be included or excluded in the interactive tabulations), Size-dependent vs. size-independent indicators, various method of counting, and a stability indicator for proportion of scientific publications in the top 10% .
