Australian Academy of Science Continues Its Effort to Improve Science Teaching. (December 21, 2012)

Over the past year the Australian Academy of Science has begun to greatly expand its effort in "Science by Doing" (see stage 2 in the table below). It would be both of interest and worthwhile for the Academy to make public the statistics of uptake of the modules, teacher and student assessment of them, and what effect has "Science by Doing" had on the overall quality of the science teaching sector?

 

In short is it having a significant impact on teaching science in Australia, or is it a boutique initiative?

 

Finally, has the approach of the Khan Academy had any influence on the AAS' efforts.
