Launching of The 2013 International Year of Mathematics of Planet Earth. (December 12, 2012)

The Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) has announced:

Simon Levin, professor of biology and director of Princeton University's Centre for BioComplexity is scheduled to give the first in a series of international public lectures: "The challenge of sustainability and the promise of mathematics''

And AMSI has announced that it is calling for applications of from $3,000 - $6,000 to fund projects in keeping "with the aims of the 'year'".
