The President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology Scheduled to Meet November 4 - Update. (November 3, 2010)
The US President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) is
scheduled to meet bimonthly and is an advisory group of some of the US' leading
scientists and engineers. They directly advise President Obama and the Executive
Office of the President making policy recommendations in the areas where an
understanding of science, technology, and innovation is key to forming policy
that works for the benefit of the nation. PCAST is administered by the Office of
Science and Technology Policy (OSTP).
The Council currently consists of
20 members and is co-chaired by John Holdren, Assistant to
the President for Science and Technology and Director of the Office of Science
and Technology Policy (OSTP) and Eric Lander, Director of the Broad Institute of
MIT and Harvard, Professor of Biology at MIT and Professor of Systems Biology at
Harvard Medical School.
The agenda for the November 4, 2010 meeting published November 2, 2010 is given
below. It is scheduled to begin at 00:30 November 5, 2010 Australian Eastern
Daylight Time and will be webcast through
www.whitehouse.gov/administration/eop/ostp/pcast.
