Eric Lander, Co-Chair of PCAST, Spoke to the AAAS on Science and Technology in the First Year of the Obama Administration. (March 19, 2010)

Although TFW is a month late in making available the Plenary Lecture of Eric Lander to the February 20, 2010 meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), we thought it was of sufficient interest to do it now.

Professor Lander is President and Director of the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT, and Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). The title of his address is "Science and Technology in the First Year of the New Administration"

Professor Lander was one of the principal leaders of the Human Genome Project and is a member of both the National Academy of Sciences and Institute of Medicine. Lander earned his B.A. degree in mathematics from Princeton University and Ph.D. degree in mathematics from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. He also was an assistant and associate professor of managerial economics at the Harvard Business School.
