TFW Hears from Hong Kong. (December 23, 2008)
At this time of year TFW readers send communications from various world corners, this one from that small island just east of the Chinese mainland.
| I'm in Hong Kong. The climate here for universities seems to
have improved markedly in the last twelve months, or at least my
colleagues at HKU tell me so. The financial challenges in China will
dwarf those in Australia, but apparently expenditure on education --
both in Hong Kong and on the mainland -- won't falter. I worry that in Australia we are being left further and further behind each day. |
