Stanford University Puts Nearly 200 Videoed Lectures on YouTube. (July 30, 2008)
A YouTube channel from Stanford made its debut on Monday July 28. The channel,
at
http://www.youtube.com/stanford, includes nearly 200
videos, and the university intends to add additional content as it becomes
available.
The university has uploaded videos of classes, faculty interviews, panel
discussions, seminars and other events in order to showcase Stanford's academic
offerings.
Stanford believes that by going on YouTube, the university is building on its efforts to provide online access to free educational content for the world.
Stanford is among a growing number of institutions, including the University of California-Berkeley and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with channels on YouTube.
