Minister Asks for Help to Develop His Excellence for Research in Australia (ERA) RQF Substitute. (June 5, 2008)

There's no doubt that the Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, Senator Kim Carr, is tenacious. Yesterday his ministry called for researchers to transmit to the Senator their thoughts and suggestions as to what should be done for and with his substitute of an Excellence for Research in Australia (Scheme) for that of the Coalition's ill conceived Research Quality Framework.

It will be interesting to see just how forthright the respondents will be to Senator Carr's invitation: “I encourage anyone who is involved in research in Australia to respond to the consultation paper and take up the opportunity to contribute to the development of a first class evaluation framework.”

And what sort of attention will be paid to the submissions.
