Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer (Therapeutic Cloning) Some Facts. (September 15, 2006)

    Over the past couple of weeks Australia's federal parliamentarians have had available to them through seminars the views of scientists knowledgeable about the use of ova and embryos for obtaining stem cells for research into what is hoped will be a path toward alleviating debilitating disorders of animals including man.

 

Australia's Chief Scientist, Jim Peacock, made the observation following the meeting (he supports the use of somatic cell nuclear transfer, SCNT)) that a number of the parliamentarians were ignorant of the facts with regard to the use of SCNT.
