Dr. Vladimir Rovenski graduated from Novosibirsk State University (Russia) in 1976,
received his candidate degree (Ph.D) in mathematics from Mathematical Institute (Novosibirsk) in 1985,
and was awarded his doctoral degree in mathematics from Russian Academy of Sciences in 1994.
In 1990-1997 he has been professor of Krasnoyarsk (Russia) Pedagogical University,
full Professor of Mathematics (Geometry) since 1996.
He is a corresponding member of Natural Science Academy of Russia (section "Physics and Mathematics")
from 1995, a reviewer of Zentralblatt fur Mathematik, and of Mathematical Review.
Since 1998 he makes scientific investigations in cooperation with Prof. O. Rand
in Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology,
and has teaching courses at University of Haifa.
From 2004 he is a Mathematical faculty member at University of Haifa.
In 2008-2010 V. Rovenski awarded Intra-European Fellowship (IEF) for Career
Development of Marie-Curie action
in the field of Riemannian Geometry, and became a visiting professor of Lodz
University.
In 2011 he awarded Marie Curie Intra-European Reintegration (ERG) fellowship in
the field of Geometric Flows on Foliations.
His fields of research are Riemannian geometry (foliations and submanifolds) and
applied mathematics (modeling in anisotropic elasticity, piezoelectricity and
fluid mechanics).
V. Rovenski has authored more than 80 scientific papers and 7 books on areas of Riemannian
and
Computational Geometry, Mathematical Methods of Mechanics.
